FROZEN & ICE

COOLING DOWN IS A PART OF THE SAUNA CYCLE AND IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE HEATING.

Cold experience rooms are usually used in conjunction with a heated experience room, for example a sauna or steam room. The combination of the heated experiences and the cooling down process means that the body is brought back down to the normal temperature again slowly before returning to a heated experience room. By using the combination of the heat and then cooling off it is believed to help circulation around the body as well as make you feel refreshed and stress free.

To cool down the heated body you can use cooling pools, ice fountains, ice caves or cooling showers.

ICE CAVE

Ice caves are fully sealed rooms with temperatures ranging from 0°C to -15°C. Additionally they can be covered with solid ice on the walls, ceiling or floors.

They are sometimes referred to as snow rooms, these normally have lighter, fluffier snow you can pick up. Ice rooms can also be equipped with an ice fountain.

ICE FOUNTAIN

Ice fountain constantly creates ice flakes and deposits them in a decorative basin. The ice flakes in the bowl can be used to rub on the skin to keep the body temperature cool in between the multiple sessions of hydro-thermal experience rooms. If you place the ice onto your body the coldness can help increase circulation around the body.

The cold can also help to release toxins and is great for building the immune system. This can help you to fight off common colds better than average. By using the ice on any injuries it is a good way to reduce any swelling and ease aches and pains.

COOLING POOL

Cooling pools are the perfect way to refresh and reset between sauna sessions, optimising health benefits the cold water plunge completes the traditional sauna experience in style.

Among users it is considered good practice to take a few moments after exiting a sauna before entering a cold plunge, and to enter cooling pool by stepping into it gradually, rather than immediately immersing fully.

COOLING SHOWER

After leaving the heating rooms rinse off the sweat and tiny particles of skin under a lukewarm shower and then begin cooling down using a stream of cold water.
